Rayman 1's soundtrack is godlike, and I don't care who disagrees with me.

The entire Rayman series had such a godlike soundtrack. The early 90's-2000's era games were all so unique and creative, just so much raw creativity trying to figure out what people liked compared to today.

When I first played EarthBound one night at like, 2 AM, this weirdly surreal and melodical song rocked my socks. I felt like it was sort of a microcosm 'theme' of all the absolutely weird stuff that happens through the game, and all of the weirdest parts of the Earth. Basically "While you're naming these characters, just imagine how weird and crazy this adventure is going to be, that spans across the entire planet and takes you through every culture of humanity filled with weird aliens and monsters in the weirdest way possible! But it's not all jokes, it'll have meaning too."

Capcom's Cadillacs and Dinosaurs might be my most favorite game soundtrack in a beat-em-up. This is the second time they used a Qsound chip in their games, but the I feel like they already nailed the composition in this game. Here are my favorite tracks in this spectacular soundtrack.

They've just announced more details for the new FLCL seasons, so now I'm listening to some songs for the original FLCL, here is one of the songs for the original show btw

This probably has similar music style with some of the 80s/90s arcade games, and I really love it ;D

And the music Looking Up in this video sure reminds me of the first stage music for Air Combat arcade game

Yeah, Casiopea is great !

I also recommend to listen Toshiki Kadomatsu and T-Square in the same style of funk/jazz fusion

NaughtyRoach

Yes, Casiopea's stuff is pretty dang good, and yeah I think I only found them pretty recently. T-Square is also pretty dang good too! I should go check Toshiki Kadomatsu's songs later on.

Apparently MilkCan, the fictional band in Um Jammer Lammy, has some covers for the in-game songs for the game itself.

geoff34

aw yeah, Um Jammer Lammy, btw, the creator and the composer of the game, Masaya Matsuura, was in a music band named PSY.S in the 80's

NaughtyRoach

Dang didn't know about that before, I mean I didn't really look up Matsuura's stuff beforehand, but yeah it sure is interesting.

Ridge Racer Type 4 has the most amazing OST for any racing game ever imo, and it's one of the main reasons why I often go back and play the game from time to time.
