If you're really interested in it I suggest using Art of Illusion. It's pretty good for use for beginners. Then you can move on to more advanced modelers like Maya or Blender.

@Chibibug: Ye I won't abandon this project like I did an year ago. Brotip:  try metasequoia (download version 3 as version 4 has limited things in the free version), it's the  program I'm using and I learned with that after starting with sketchup. If you download it, there should be an option to disable basic menu and use advanced instead, it's just more tools and they're easy to use.
Anyways today I'll try to finish the shoe and I'll put a reference image (concept art) to get better proportions. Idk if I should continue to the legs or make the head directly. A thing's for sure: The ring is easy to make :P

Nah tried it, I need that for some file conversions but even if metasequoia isn't open source, version 3.1.x is free and has all the options as full except you can't export, there are conversion plugins though so you can export that anyways

I try it from time to time. It's an awesome program but metasequoia is more suited for my needs and quickierOk the project is on hold :P . BUT. I'm working on an old rip of Joka from the Wii Klonoa remake. The only problem are the uv mappings >_>AAAAAND JOKA'S BACK TEXTURE IS COMING OUT PRETTY WELL! It would be better if the UV map wasn't encrypted tho
