It has come to our attention that ShiftyLook, a subsidary of Namco Bandai is shutting down. The Klonoa comic, Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol, only has a few more comic pages before it abruptly ends.  :'(

"The idea was to take the unused, 'sleeping' video game characters of our past and bring them back first with webcomics, and then – once they had gotten enough traction – expand into other media like web animation, games, and merchandise,"

"That said, now that we have successfully revived so many franchises, the heavy lifting is completed – and so is our work. We battled the video games abyss and won, which means it's time for us to move on and let the hit-makers play with some new toys."

Alas it has came to this. Namco looks to burn down something we all cared about. But out of the ashes, a phoenix arises.

A major letdown.. the one thing keeping Klonoa alive and now it's being put to an end. I'm hoping for another chance for Klonoa to shine someday...

Jim Zub clearly said that the Klonoa webcomic won't really have an ending, thus leaving the story uncompleted and probably making people want to know the ending, and maybe making Namco Bandai (from 1 April "Bandai Namco") finally do a new Klonoa game. There's probably a good side.

What do you mean by "1 April Bandai Namco"?

All I can think of right now when it comes to "1 April" is Namco teasing a fake Klonoa project on April Fools Day -_-

I'm pretty surprised about them closing down, since they seemed to have a lot of investment in the other franchises put up there aswell, not just Wonder Momo. It seems kind of weird that NBGI would redirect ShiftyLook's resources entirely like that, right after it's just proven how effective it was at reviving the long forgotten IPs.

I guess it just wasn't profitable enough to warrant staying...

I was talking about NB's new name, from 1st april they'll be called Bandai Namco instead of the opposite, that shows how less namco is there every time :(

NB's new name...? Can't help but create a account and join the discuss.
They used "Bandai Namco" in Japan for years, and now they think it's time to use the same name overseas.

Hello and welcome to the forums! :)

And yes, this is true, it has been Bandai Namco for years overseas. The only reason why it was Namco Bandai over in the west is because people over here recognized Namco as a brand more than Bandai.
