I want to hear your theories on the world of Lunatea.

I've not managed to post a Klonoa related thread in a while. I thought I'd try something since lately I realize I tend to get attached to environments and worlds in games like how people can get attached to characters. Been playing a lot of dark souls lately and remembered how much I felt emotion in the environment then I got to thinking of Klonoa 2's various kingdoms xD

Ah what I mean is how does Lunatea and it's various kingdoms and places feel to you?

For me it is like this.

There might be some typos in my giant post I'm half awake right now and mildly ill but I'm good otherwise.

LaLakoosha tends to permeate with a feeling of peace and tranquility like the element that belongs in that Area.
I also think Baguji's Island also belongs under the element of tranquility's influence. both places are quite peaceful looking and have what I call soft feeling environments. but hey maybe I'm crazy for finding emotion in landscapes xD :embarassed:

Joliant is just one big party to me. Jungle slider is like an embodiment of rapid adventure and much activity it is a wonder it doesn't have a song like Mira Mira Mountains. There is the fun park and it is all one big carnival full of lights and colors and that nice section devoted to spooky stuff too thrills and all that. I wonder what the ruler of the kingdom of Joy would be like hmm.

Volk is pretty straight forward but yeah feels like the bustling movements and chaos of city life mixed in with stuff from possibly world war II or that's a vibe I get while running through volk often xD. Though something interests me. Biskarsh's arena is pretty much a stadium maybe it is a place in volk where once not so chaotic speeches and discussions before the kingdom devolved into war well discord and such.

Mira Mira I think this place suits parts of me well sometimes it seems like nearly all the inhabitants are isolated in their own little world lost in thoughts and hardly being certain to decide anything. Heh I feel like this a lot of days. I do find the path to Mira Mira interesting it was a nice little village in the snow with some interesting snow sculptures I've not really seen anywhere else "I don't get much snow". I reallly like the maze of memories I think it portrays getting lost in thoughts memories / other events and reflecting a bit excessively quite well. I know the whole place is of indecision but I think it represents doubt as well. considering how that old tree's question quickly brought out the doubt in Lolo.

Hyuponia is the old kingdom of sorrow. Though I tend to think it embodies more than just simply sorrow.
I feel like there is grieving loneliness and regret in that place. The actual kingdom of sorrow is littered with abandoned dolls and other various things. I tend to think the masks in the background of that level represent an example to trying to hide the sorrow by a fake face or maybe it could represent ones who where lost and so they are memorized as masks of emotions in that kingdom. The forgotten path part of the kingdom of sorrow reminds me with all it's winding paths what it is like to fall into the depths of depression and emptiness like you are the only thing in the world sad and there is no one to save you. Just utter emptiness and loneliness. there is also weird distorted laughing in this level too I am unsure if it is a twisted memory or something like being laughed at.

I am oddly putting the empty sea of tears last here before I think on the ark. I don't know where to put this place in kingdoms but it hints at something obviously very old at the end. That structure with many bells and statues that are not as similar to the Claire statues looks really important to the game but I can't quite fully decide even in my own theories what to do about it other than. This is pre Claire the Ancient stuff and it might have a connection to the current king of sorrow. Maybe the Kingdom of sorrow is not actually a kingdom of sorrow or once was not but that is yet more wild theory idk what to put in here really.

Now Ishras Ark I personally consider it's own thing and if not the most mysterious place in the game. even though it is a giant flying if not living boat "It did make some noises after all <_>" I don't know best how to describe how I feel about this place but perhaps it connects to how Lunatea was once before the kingdoms started to drift apart.
I feel very peaceful things about Ishra's ark but it is not like Lalakoosha like there is a sense of powerful but subtle activity going on there. It's nice. As much as I don't like long levels I tend to play in that one the most for testing because it all just feels good to me.

And that's that. This feels like more of a crazy fanfiction then a theory, but hey it still works XD
I thought this up when i was thinking about why there aren't any cabbits in Lunatea, and why the KoS is the only one that looks similar to Klonoa.
It also could be that i've just been obsessed with war lately since i've been trying to learn more about the wars in Zelda, and because im reading Divergent so put the two together and what do you get? Klonoa theory, boom.
Ahem, anyway tell me if this is as crazy as it sounds, cause while typing it i thought to myself "man, this makes no sense, what am i even doing" XD
