Should the Klonoa games be played in an order?

Obviously Klonoa: Door to Phantomile > Klonoa 2: Lunatea's veil

But what about the others?

Some games have characters from Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's veil in the same game.

Rupurudu!

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile > Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil
or
Klonoa (Wii) > Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil

You can play other games (spinoffs) in any order you want.

(Also moved this to Klonoa Chatbox, since this is Klonoa-related topic.)

As far as the main games, no. You can play both without any order.

I do recommend that people play Empire of Dreams then Dream Champ Tournament afterwards, seeing that DCT happened immediately after EoD.

I think you'd get the best experience playing DtP -> LV and EoD -> DCT, but like everyone else said, there's not much continuity between them. You won't be confused if you play them in any order, I don't think.

There's also Moonlight Museum, which is a prequel, but entirely in Japanese so the story is lost on people who don't speak the language.

other than that, release date is pretty accurate

Moonlight Museum > Door to Phantomile > Lunatea's Veil > Empire of Dreams > Dream Champ > Beach Volley > Heroes > Namco X Capcom

My personal order would be something along the lines of:

1. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
2. Klonoa: Empire of Dreams
3. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil
4. Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament
5. Kaze no Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal

This is what I consider to be the "timeline" of the games.
As for Beach Volleyball and the wiimake...

You can play BV whenever, and you could play the wiimake in the original's stead, though I highly recommend playing the original. I mean, a hard copy of the original PS1 game in it's complete form is sorta challenging to come by, what with some people asking OUTRAGEOUS x_x prices for them, 'specially on eBay for some odd reason. So if you can't get your hands on a hard copy, I suggest downloading ePSXe or PCSX-Reloaded and emulating the game, as both of the afforementioned do their job quite well. ;D

There's no exact order in terms of timeline, so I don't think the order really matters.

If the Klonoa series did have to be in a certain order, here's how I would have have it laid out:

-Moonlight Museum

-Door to Phantomile

-Empire of Dreams

-Lunatea's Veil

-Dream Champ Tournament

-Denetsu no Star Medal

-Dream Traveler of Noctis Sol

I consider Beach Volleyball more of its own thing (as most spin-off titles are) and even then, I agree with you guys about the "no real continuity" thing.
