Title says it all. Most of the links to YouTube channels on people's profiles, including my own, are directing me to 404's.

I just tried it with Wind's page, and it 404'd as well. That's weird.

It depends on if the YouTube channel link was properly pasted and if their URL exists, I had issues for a while with my change of URL. If it was recently set give it a few days, YouTube seems to be very slow for the changes to URLs and profile pictures.

Also make sure that your YouTube URL is pasted correctly.

Try user/(name)

Or the site admin could change the base (Youtube.com/) to Youtube.com/user/ and we can enter our channel names there.

Also, some people (new channels) use channel/ so there could also be a separate one for people who have channel/ instead of user/

So right from the start when coming in the UH forums, I imputed my youtube link as "Balneor", as this sentence indicates me "Imput your Youtube username" which is this one. For a while I didn't bother to test it, believing the job was done.

But I eventually found-out this wasn't the case, much to my confusion. So I tested it a bit further, without success. One thing I remember having tried, was putting the entire channel link,
"https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmopsz7E3QX4dcig4OdMQbg"

I didn't put thoughts on it again after a looooong while. Recently, I was reading the entirety of the "Site Suggestion & Help" board. I stumbled on this topic, hearing about people such as Rupurudu! who did have problems with this functionnality (And, without much surprises, still does today), which made me "investigate" this even more seriously, finding time success! They could have done a better job, the things you have to imput isn't obvious at all, to my experience at least.

Anyways, Here's what you're supposed to do :

Let's imagine this link, as the one which will bring you to your channel page :

www..youtube..com/channel/UCmopsz7E3QX4dcig4OdMQbg

Here's what the functionnality already have "conveniently" imputted for you, in the background :

www..youtube..com/channel/UCmopsz7E3QX4dcig4OdMQbg

Now here's what you're supposed to imput in that empty space :

www..youtube..com/channel/UCmopsz7E3QX4dcig4OdMQbg

-----

I've seens links with "channel" being replaced by "user". I don't actually know why this is the case, but it may have something to do with being a verified user. The way of imput shouldn't be much different.

Finally, I know this topic was left for almost one year. It still is on the board's front page though, and on top of that the issue itself, still exist today, so I'm not creating a brand new one.

I did not remember having problems with that. x_x

Alright, let me explain this a bit better. The problem is on YouTube and your YouTube account. Your channel does not have active "Custom URL" feature. (You can check this on here.)

Back when this feature was implemented to the forums, YouTube was giving everyone custom url, right after channel creation. It was impossible to have a channel without custom url.

Now, it's possible to have a channel without a custom url, like yours. In that case, you'll need to put your ID on the box like you explained above.

Here's a better explaination, covering all cases I know of:

If your account created before new Custom URL system:
Your URL should be like this: "https://www.youtube.com/user/daraikenu"
In that case typing both "daraikenu" and "user/daraikenu" will work.

If your account created after new Custom URL system and Custom URL feature activated:
Your URL should be like this: "https://www.youtube.com/c/Gamr13"
In that case typing both "Gamr13" and "c/Gamr13" will work.

If your account created after new Custom URL system and Custom URL feature not activated:
Your URL should be like this: "https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmopsz7E3QX4dcig4OdMQbg"
In that case typing "channel/UCmopsz7E3QX4dcig4OdMQbg" will work.
