This messed my new years a good deal. I will wait until confirmation from Namco.
I'm furious. But I will attempt to be patient.

With the way things had been going as I observed HENSHIN I guess I should have seen this coming. But I kept telling myself it would still happen and it'd be okay. I wanted so badly for this to be a reality. I'm sure they wanted it to be as well. I see only a bit of hope in the way they worded their message. "With us at least" might suggest HENSHIN isn't the ones handling anything Klonoa related anymore and maybe somebody else will take the reigns. Who knows. All I know is that this hurts me as much as it hurts anyone else excited for the film.
I had a strong feeling this was going to happen, unfortunately. The fact they haven't been really updating, the series being too obscure, and lack of proper resources was going to inevitably lead to this. It's as if everything Klonoa related dies fast when brought back, like the DtP remake selling poorly, and Noctis Sol not being finished. It's ironic that he/his outfits makes a lot of cameo appearances in modern games, but still doesn't have a new game, his comic finished, nor a movie. However if the IP is in the right hands/more support and a budget comes into fruition then the chance of seeing this anime will increase, however it's unlikely to say where this is going. Who do you think will take the reigns? That's a question I'm still trying to answer lol

I really want to think Henshin had massive struggles and they had to quit the project because of it. However, as said, "with us at least" really suggests there's (or there will be) another studio that will continue the work.

We could think about a lot of studios that could be the ones diong this project. But as it stands, this is horrible news now. But maybe, as the year continues, they can become great news. I still have faith, but I can see the movie being released in cinemas, if everything goes OK by this point, like being greenlit soon and starting production, as early as 2023.

My hope of getting good news soon is very low though. As long as it isn't officially cancelled I will still have a little bit of hope.

Guys, why would anyone find this Twitter account credible?

This account was made in 2009. It existed much before any Klonoa Anime project and the fact it used Klonoa Wii avatar and had English posts makes it seem even less credible source. Unless we see Japanese sites reporting cancellation with actual official confirmation of cancellation, I won't trust this.

It's been stated quite a few times, with credible evidence, that this was originally a Henshin account that got morphed into what we know now. There's a compiled list of connections here somewhere.

IIRC this popped up soon after Henshin began disappearing and deleting announcement tweets.

It's a holiday week so people might not want to talk business, but nothing has been said here about this as of tonight.

As an aside - for people reading Klonoa Chronicles the one posted last week was the last one. Not because it's canceled, but because the series for Door to Phantomile has ended as expected. There will be a break this week before the start of Mr Driller Chronicles for the game's 20th Anniversary.

Sounds like there might have been a personnel shakeup behind the scenes.

I am going to refrain from thinking all is lost until an official statement comes forth. Somehow, I still believe Hitoshi Ariga is working on something with Klonoa. Lately he's been working on art for the latest Yokai Torimonocho (https://goo.gl/48TNgj) book.

I'll just put this here. I'll be going on rumor patrol until an official statement is released so please take what is reported as rumor, not fact.

Very intriguing. Although, it does bring up a few questions. Is that Klonoa anime account real or not? What's the actual progress of the film and is Henshin doing ok?

Mobotropolis

The anime account was a Henshin account.

From the sound of things, it looks like Henshin was removed from the project.

I wrote a little piece a while back observing HENSHIN's troubled history of even getting off the ground: http://klonoa-at-blog.tumblr.com/post/178888217883/notice-this-is-pure-speculation-and-musing

As for @klonoa_anime, it is linked to HENSHIN, more specifically Rob Pereyda. These are the only old tweets I could locate and they appear to be some casual tweets.

I would wager it was Rob's old twitter account before he switched to his current one @rpereyda. It's weird why he'd even need to move accounts or have to go from @teamhenshin to just @HENSHlN when you can just rename your account username but I digress. It's stuff like this is why I find HENSHIN as a whole so strange.
