Something about the King of Sorrow struck me as odd today.

I have been listening to Klonoa 2's soundtrack a lot recently.
For some reason I can't stop thinking about it currently.

While listening to the King of Sorrow's theme on YouTube and spending most of that time just staring at the still of the KoS in the video.

Why is Hyuponia - the king of of sorrow - in ruins at all?

The King of Sorrow as far as we know is the only resident of Hyuponia (the Kingdom of Sorrow).
I guess isolation fits in there somewhere.
But considering the undeniable resemblance the Kingdom's name has to Huepow, and the theme of the level "Hyuponia, Ruins of Sadness" having both normal and reversed pieces of Klonoa 1 music in it (among other bits).
And how the king himself (albeit vaguely) resembles Klonoa.

It makes me wonder, is the King of Sorrow a representation of Klonoa's own grief\regrets?
"Wahii, rupurudu!" = "Okay, let's go!"

Hey, I think you are overthinking, it is just meant to be that way!

Yeah I thought I remembered hearing this sometime long before.
So I'm not going crazy then! Good to know!

I have pretty bad problems remembering things, my memory just gives up sometimes.
