Note: Because Dream Traveler of Noctis Sol is unfinished, shelved, and not accessible on any official website now,
I will not consider it here until it's resumed and open to the public again.Over the years, people have come to the forums and discussed many mysteries about Klonoa himself,
the worlds he has traveled to, and his friends/foes.
But even with discussions, people often find themselves confused.
The truth is, the information is as plenty as all the questions already asked - they're merely not available in languages other than Japanese.
Although there might not be definitive answers, I can tell you what the staff thought when working on the series with everything I've found.
Some of you may have known better than me, so please help me correct any flaws or provide more details.
Or, if you want to know about other facts, you can suggest them with replies, and I'll put them into the list below.
I'll keep editing this post instead of starting a new thread until it's too long.
The origin of the name Klonoa
[color=blue]After the internal calling for submissions had ended with our long-eared hero and his spirit buddy getting the green light,
he still lacked a name.
Since Hideo Yoshizawa had decided this character had to be the avatar of whoever plays the game,
he then chose the English word "clone" and suffixed it with an a, creating the name, Clonoa.
However, a Namco employee in the North America branch argued that Clonoa sounded like a disease and insisted on replacing the C with a K.
Therefore, Klonoa finally got his name.
Hideo Yoshizawa could never be over the renaming, and that's why he has a Twitter account with the username @yoshi_clonoa.

Klonoa's species
[color=blue]Let's get straight to the point - Klonoa can be whatever you like.
Among the transcripts of interviews done by the staff themselves, which they called relay essays,
one says Yoshihiko Arai(the designer) will leave this to players' imaginations
since Klonoa is the avatar/double of who plays the game.
If you really want a definitive answer,
a puzzle game from another group of Bandai Namco describes Klonoa as a "beastfolk/beastman."

Klonoa's age(unfinished)
[color=blue]In the first place, the designers have described Klonoa as a "shounen"(少年). Later, an "otoko"(男の子) in Klonoa Heroes.
Those two Japanese terms are generic ones that can be used to refer to a person from a toddler to a teenager,
while it's more often to use "otoko" on children.
But can we narrow down the range even further?
Since Klonoa appears riding a carp-shaped windsock in the official 2022 calendar,
he can only be younger than a teenager because those windsocks are a symbol of Koinobori(鯉のぼり),
now known as Japanese children's day.
Although in the illustration, he's riding the black one, which usually represents the father in a family.
