I've been doing AMVs for a while for a few years now on my YouTube channel as tributes to some of my favorite franchises. Since I've been in a big Klonoa mood as of late, I decided to go through with making one for him. This one is a bit different though, as it features a rough storytelling element. All the additional artwork was drawn by a close friend of mine,
Kibynoa. Most of it was for a scrapped anniversary animatic she was working on around the time Phantasy Reverie was announced. I asked her permission if I could use her assets and she happily accepted and I got to work.
I wanted to leave most of it up for interpretation but I do have an intended explanation for those who are having a rough time trying to piece it together.
