[Sleepy]

Okay, so I'm planning on making a comic for Ka's fanbook thing.  It's been a while since I've last drawn Klonoa-related stuff, so I practiced a little with some doodles.  I figured I'd share them here while I'm at it.  The comic is going to be based on a scene from Heroes, so only Klonoa, Guntz, and Pango will be in it. 

For now, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to draw their faces and expressions. 



First up is Guntz.  I was super excited to try drawing him again so I did him first.  Drawing him is super fun.  He has such an array of expressions.  Dog muzzles are definitely one of my favorite things to draw.


I've never quite been able to figure out how to draw Klonoa, and even now every time I try he comes out super inconsistent.  You can tell just from these sketches that I can't settle on a style.  I've been drawing Klonoa for years and I'm still not sure how to work around those weirdly shaped eyes.

They're very different from the official style; That's all I can say now.
Not sure if I do like those pictures, but it's interesting to see you drew them in this way.

Great expressions! I always try to draw Klonoa and the gang with different expressions too. xD

Making them different from the original style was intentional.  When I draw things I like them to make more sense anatomically.

And no, I didn't try to make Klonoa and Guntz resemble each other.  I don't think they do...?

Also, Guntz almost looks like Charlie from All Dogs Go To Heaven. Just an observation.

Haha. I didn't particularly have Charlie in mind while drawing him, but Don Bluth's movies have always inspired me.  So I'm not surprised.

Anatomically sensible? Well, more like western cartoonish to me...Never mind, I guess I saw your point.
I doubt the staff even cared about the anatomies, btw.
