But some of you seem to forget that it wasn't the shoutbox that brought all of us together in the first place.

...Not me. Honestly, when I first saw this place, I thought is was just...dead, with no activity. I had absoutely no interest in it. But...Since this was before the Forums moved, I managed to see the shoutbox...and I was immensely intrigued. So, I decided to join whenever I got an Email account. Which was after the forums moved.

...And, might I remind you that it was THE GAMES that brought us together? Seriously, they're the only reason this Forum exists.

Also, I should point out that by this point, I am now arguing just for the sake of arguing.

Yes, it was the games that brought us together. But still, most of you are addicted to the shoutbox, way too much. Moderating the comments on there is difficult and I've even seen unneccesary spam (too much of it). It's time to take a break from the shoutbox and use the message boards for chat from now on.

Well, you can always have Rupurudu! moderate the comments. He seems more than willing to spend countless hours monitoring the Shoutbox for unruly behavior. I could, too, but I'm in NO position to ask for such power.

Please no. Without the search, reporting and moderation tools, It's way too hard for me. I really don't want to look for 60k posts for one offensive post.

Also you can ask for being a shoutbox mod but you need to ask Aura and Darai about that.

Anyway, I already said my concerns about closing of the shoutbox on the staff section and I don't have to say anything more.

So, If we won't use Shoutbox, and use message boards instead, Why not make a thread that is NOT viewable by guests? (Privacy)

Although the shoutbox is a great place for discussing before you post, I can see why Aura made her decision. Some of us are really addicted to it...disabling it until we can find a better solution is wise.

What could make us a better shoutbox, then? "Slow mode" comes to my mind, but I'm not sure if such feature exists in the shoutbox plugin.
