Tails' Fake Rings

Quote from: "RollingMeowcat"Well, Marth and Roy are both Nintendo's, and they can do whatever they want to their own characters. Plus Marth and Roy got a game on Wii, it's OK for them joining the SSB series.

Remember NamcoXCapcom? Klonoa's moveset is inspired by "Klonoa Heroes", a game which wasn't released outside Japan. If Klonoa have a moveset similar to NXC in SSB4, that would be strange to western gamers. In the other games, like the latest game - DtP remake, Klonoa's relatively powerless and relies on Hwepoe/Lolo, and how could a "non-combatant" be fit in SSB4?

One more thing: Did Klonoa used the power given by king of sorrow in Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol?
1. You're right in the first part, but Klonoa also has more games on Nintendo systems than he does on Sony systems at this point.

2. While it's true that Klonoa's moveset in Namco X Capcom was inspired by Klonoa Heroes, Klonoa Heroes itself was a Nintendo game. Despite both being unreleased overseas, Klonoa Heroes was still on a Nintendo system, and the very fact that it's unreleased here doesn't matter since we've got Lucas in Brawl (who has an American accent).

3. No, Klonoa never received any power from the King of Sorrow during Lunatea's Veil anyway, and the King of Sorrow himself only appeared in a flashback.

1.Number of games on each system doesn't matter at all. Remember Snake?
2.Like I said, Lucas is also a Nintendo character. They can do whatever they want. But Klonoa's not.
3.Then what the purple ball in Klonoa's hand is in the event scene? A grape flavored candy?

1. Hideo Kojima wanted Solid Snake in.
2. Alright, fine.
3. It's the Element of Sorrow. The goal of Klonoa and co.'s quest in Lunatea's Veil was to ring the bell of the four kingdoms (which also granted an element of that kingdom/emotion) and maintain the emotional harmony of the world. I'm sure the elements were returned to each bell when the world finally accepted sorrow. Popka saying "we" when referring to knowledge of the existence of the elements implies that it's commonly known that the bells grant those physical manifestations of power when rung. Klonoa never actually used any of the elements, even in the final battle, despite what you may have seen or thought.

"Hideo Kojima wanted Solid Snake in." So we need someone important stand for the Kfans, then maybe Klonoa can get in too.
And thanks for the explanation! I should play Klonoa2 again someday.

I still think Klonoa's not ready for any crossover game for now, unless a new game is released. From my point of view, Klonoa in the main series is different from Klonoa in the spin-off stories. And if they want to put Klonoa in SSB4, they would take DtP remake as reference for it's the latest game. So we can't just ask they use same material in Namco X Capcom.

Despite the scenario writer trying to make the mainline series continues to the spinoff series, both Klonoas are different.

I want another sequel in the mainline series, because mainline Klonoa doesn't have a truly happy ending. :(

Also, it wouldn't be using Namco X Capcom content, it would be using Klonoa Heroes content.

Yeah, I checked guestbook of Aoi's site, Klonoa Works seemed to have difficulties when creating the new story of a sequel. (Because the story of DtR is completed) So they bypassed the problem by making spin-off games and comics.
"both Klonoas are different" ← I don't really get it.
I don't think a happy ending is always needed; Sometimes a story is perfect for it's a sad story. I don't care if Klonoa3 would be a depressing game.
Um, NamcoXCapcom content was inspired by Klonoa Heroes, therefore making use of either two games is pretty much the same thing. (So we need another evolved Klonoa, HA!)

1. What I mean by "different" is that mainline Klonoa only has bittersweet endings. Spin-off Klonoa has either happy or content endings. I know that a happy ending isn't necessary, and I do believe that it can be overdone, but I think that mainline Klonoa deserves a happy ending at least once in his life.

2. Why does it matter that Namco X Capcom used weapons and abilities from Klonoa Heroes? Klonoa could use them in Smash Bros. if he wanted to, there's nothing barring him from doing so, and it's not "copying" Namco X Capcom either, it's putting those tools to use. The Wind Sword and Wind Hammer can be used for normals, the Beam Gnome, Arm Cannons, and Boomerang can be used for specials, and Tornado Attack or Thunder Hurricane can be used for a final smash. I see no problem with that. It's not like you have to ask permission to use a fighting style or martial art.

1. Totaly agree.
2. The reason is simple: Marth ,Roy and Lucas can join SSB4 because they are all Nintendo characters, even Mother3 is Japan exclusive. (Moreover, Japanese Mother fans might be not pleased if they don't see Lucas in the game, removing Lucas in non-Japan versions could make western gamers feel like they have to buy a incomplete game as well)
But when it comes to Klonoa, a SSB4 team member might say: "Klonoa Heroes was not released in the west, and Klonoa's not a Nintendo character, so putting him in SSB4 is surely a bad idea." I might be exaggerating, but limitation always exists.
Even a big person spoke for us, you still can't expect to see "that Klonoa you exactly expected" shows up, for the same reason - "Klonoa's not a Nintendo character".

But we're not talking about the possibility of Klonoa being in Smash Bros. anymore, we're talking about Klonoa using his stuff from Klonoa Heroes and you saying it's not okay because Namco X Capcom used it first.

Ouch, silly me. (facepalm)
Yes, your ideas are great! It can be even better if more Klonoa gets more "wind elements"!
Klonoa's Japanese title can be literally translated as "Klonoa of the wind", and "wind" is something can make him different from the other characters.
Plus Klonoa can use his big ears to taunt his opponents, or use the hoverboard to do some tricks.
