Update: Still working on patch. It's a painful process. It's probably taking longer than it should mostly because I'm a total noob at this, but it's coming along...slowly.

I wonder if this is how working on Earthbound patch felt like.

Here's a list of "the essential kinds of tool" I've found out so far.
emulator - To test and play the game.
debugger - To know how the game program runs.
disassembler - It translates binary machine codes into assembly codes, which are easier to understand.
tile viewer - Editing sprites is convenient with this.
hex editor - To inspect the ROM file directly and dump data.
assembler - It translates assembly codes back into machine codes, which are executable.

Too right Rolling. I should post a list of the tools I use plus a link to each of them.

Gonna tear into this weekend. I want to make some big strides into this patch. I know there's a lot of talking in this game (it's an RPG, so of course) but I want to get this further along.

If I could merely play test this damned game by any chance I'd REALLY appreciate it since who knows what kind of attention I could draw to the project thanks to my YouTube Channel. It would certainly help us both out in any case.

hate to burst your bubble man but if we were to put it on a channel to play test it we may need to find a popular user that a lot of gamers watch (for example screwattack, or vsauce, or any other popular channels that are video game themed.) Sorry if you are offended but that is a good idea though.

Plus the translation is not even ready to be even tested yet we are still dealing with translation (I don't recall that we are using Aoi's translation), Coding (so the letters would fit in correctly), and inserting custom sprites for (For the translation)

Another problem is the gameplay is... rather plain, and it requires some leveling up process to defeat the bosses.
If you're not really a Klonoa fan, you might not get into the game and its story. Having someone knows Klonoa more to make videos sounds better to me.

I'm sorry but I question your logic when it ONLY has to be someone popular who uploads the gameplay videos and not, say, anybody can do so. If anything anyone should have the fair right of playtesting the demo and spreading the word. These popular channels may never even learn of the translations existence otherwise, or may not even bother if nobody else is spreading the word, and your plan is to essentially exploit their fame to spread the word of this game.

Believe me. I've nearly finished the first game and I'm working on a way to get a hold of the second. Besides, I love RPGs and I don't care about the grinding as long as the combat itself doesn't take forever (*coughdigimonworld2cough*). Believe me, a game would essentially have to be unplayable for me to steer clear from it when it comes to the difficulty.

hmmm I see your point..... and yea that was some stupid logic now that you've explained it. sorry about stomping ur idea and I agree with u It's not that im saying it's exclusive its just a suggestion. All are welcome to try it out and spread it out but I was just suggesting we should get higher ups to help us spread the word as well. I guess I put the terms in a wrong way so again I apologize.

and also are you by any chance a MOTHER/Earthbound fan?
