Gotta disagree on the King being Huepow. They're even seen side-by-side in a (very cute) official wallpaper.

The skiing one? It also shows Guntz there too, so it's just a nice wallpaper, not really opposing evidence.

Don't Guntz, Lolo, and Popka all appear in Dream Champ tournament? Popka and Lolo are from the same world as the King. I think it's the same for Heroes, too.

I really don't like the thought of the King being the same as Huepow. I love the King as his own unique character, not as Huepow.

It's just a theory, nothing concrete or absolute of course. Though if you want to talk to me about where Dream Champ Tournament fits in into all of this, you're going to have to give me a pack of Excedrin beforehand. ^^;

Haha, in a way, a crazy continuity would make sense for dream worlds. Most of the time my dreams differ from each other, and even within the same dream stories can get pretty crazy. I doubt that's what Namco intended, but it's a funny thought.  ^^;

And thank goodness Klonoa's dreams aren't as crazy as mine. Oh my gosh.  X_X

Anyone got a picture of Huepow's full form from the original/wiimake? I want to compare them with KoS, since I believe someone said there's some resemblance in that and the King.

Aren't they sprites created from drawing over 3D models? It would be similar to how SNK created the sprites for their more recent King of Fighters games.

They are definitely sprites made from some former 3d model klonoa lephise and some others also have that weird look about them when you run a ps1 game at a high resolution.

2xsai  textures and some texture filtering which I never use because I hate what it does to sprites but I took a screen for comparison.

I'm derailing the topic a bit sorry I get a little crazy when I want to test and compare things about a game I like to this degree.
I'm going to try to resist posting anymore before I got on a spree of detail searching.

Maybe I'll make up for it later by trying to get info or least comparison screenshots on the King of Sorrow.
I'll have to re beat klonoa 2 again though lost my save data on that game a while back. Kingdom Of Sorrow and The Forgotten Path are gonna be hell

Nah, they're sprites.

The characters are 3D models turned into sprites in teh PS1 version. Like they animated the 3D models frame by frame and converted each frame to a sprite.
